Dan Lanning roasts USC in pitch to Southern California recruits

Dan Lanning and Oregon went to USC and did what the Ducks have done the last few times they have played the Trojans, which is win. With the score tied at 27 in the fourth quarter, the Ducks responded with two touchdowns to pull away for the 41-27 win.

Much of the talk was about the hit by Desman Stephens on Dante Moore, a play that knocked the Oregon quarterback out of the game. However, Lanning let all of the recruits across Southern California know where they should go to school if they want to win games.

“Three wins against these guys. I guess if you’re interested in winning football games, you’re from this area, you should go to Oregon. You want to go to a Chris Brown concert; you should go here.”

This was supposed to be the year Lincoln Riley and the Trojans finally got the job done. The Ducks had not looked quite like they were expected to before the year started, but Lanning’s team showed up on Saturday night.

Even with Moore taken out of the game, backup Dylan Raiola came in and delivered in a huge game. He finished 19-of-25 for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

When the Ducks needed it most, the team delivered hugely. Lanning was facing some true adversity during the regular season for the first time, but on Saturday night, he and his team reminded everybody what a team that owns the West Coast looks like.
