Dante Moore will be Oregon‘s presumed starter at quarterback in 2025, as the rising junior is projected to take the reins in the fall after backing up Dillon Gabriel.

After winning the Big Ten championship and reaching the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2014, the Ducks will have their eyes set on the program’s first national championship. And a big part of that could be heralded freshman Dakerion Moore, the nation’s top wide receiver in the class of 2025.

Through the first several weeks of spring football, Dante Moore likes what he sees from the Texas product.

“Texas football’s different,” he said. “I trained down there in Dallas. I got to see how they practice out there. They do spring ball. It’s serious out there. So him coming in, he already had the mindset of competing really well.”

While Dakerion Moore (no relation to Dante) will be coming into the Ducks program with plenty of expectations, he’s lived up to the billing — at least on the practice fields.

“He’s doing what’s advertised. He’s true to his talent,” Dante Moore said. “He’s really good with (his) feet, got good hands… What people are saying is true. He’s for sure legit.”

Oregon will play its spring game on August 26. It opens the season on Aug. 30 against FCS Montana State.
