Darien Mayo is one of the top players out of Maryland and a key Edge prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. On Friday, Mayo updated his recruitment with a top 6 list moving forward.
Out of the B1G, Mike Locksley’s in-state Maryland program made the cut alongside Michigan and Ohio State. USC — bound for the B1G — is included along with Clemson and South Carolina.
According to his 247 Sports page, Mayo will take official visits to Clemson and Ohio State in June, so it will be interesting to see how those visits impact his recruitment.

Listed at 6-foot-7 and 247 pounds, Mayo is a 4-star recruit and the No. 17 Edge prospect nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 5 player out of Maryland and the 181st overall recruit in the country.
Mayo’s elite size makes him an intriguing prospect as he has the frame to develop into a difference-maker at the next level.
