When it comes to weekly travelling college football pregame shows, Fox and ESPN have been the 2 standard bearers for a while with College GameDay and Big Noon Kickoff.

These broadcasting behemoths have been duking it out to see who can capture the attention of more fans heading into the early slate of action, a battle that GameDay appears to have a massive advantage in.

It looks like Fox is making some changes to their team, with Andrew Marchand from The Athletic reporting on Saturday morning that the network has removed Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports from the program.

This comes a little over a year after Fox added Portnoy to their Big Noon Kickoff desk as a part of a wider deal between the network and Barstool Sports, which Portnoy is the founder and CEO of. He made his debut on the program back in Week 1 of 2025 in Columbus, Ohio for Texas vs. Ohio State, and was a mainstay for the entire year. He also appeared in all 4 episodes so far this season before the abrupt split.

Just before the news was announced, Portnoy took to social media and blamed Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, insisting the Buckeyes HC complained to the Big Ten and ended the collaboration. Here’s Portnoy’s full comments:

Now it looks like Fox will be returning to their traditional crew of former star college players and longtime host Rob Stone and betting analyst Rob Felica.
