David Braun emphasized how Northwestern has come together since the recent NCAA investigation into the football program. He spoke about it in length at Wednesday’s B1G Media Days.
Braun talked about how Northwestern is ready to attack the 2023 season. He also made sure to discuss how so many people have been impacted by the decisions made in the last couple of weeks.
The Northwestern interim HC further noted how he did not expect to become a head coach under these circumstances, but was still honored to be representing Northwestern.
“I have found a team that’s come together, that loves one another and has a resolve to attack the 2023 season. Let me be clear: This football team will be ready to go. A lot of people have been impacted by decisions made over the last couple of weeks. Our guys in that facility are going through a lot. We have an opportunity to either run from that or an opportunity to truly stare that adversity in the face.”

While Braun will have the tough task of changing the culture of Northwestern football, the team seems to be in a better place from where it was.
The Wildcats start the 2023 campaign against Rutgers on Sept. 3. Kickoff will be at Noon E.T. on CBS.
