Both Louisville and Nebraska will have some first-year head coaches in 2023. Former Cardinals QB Jeff Brohm accepted the head coaching position at his alma mater and Ex-Carolina Panthers HC Matt Rhule is returning to the college ranks to coach the Huskers.
Rhule’s last college job was with Baylor in 2019. Rhule led the Bears to an 11-3 record that year before leaving for the Panthers job the following season.
Nebraska is the only B1G school to have offered Russell thus far. If Russell heads to Lincoln he will have the opportunity to work with new DC Tony White. White joined Rhule’s staff after spending time as the DC of Syracuse football.
