Deion Sanders makes history: CFB media, fans react to nation’s No. 1 recruit signing with Jackson State

This early signing period just got even better. The No.1 overall recruit in the class of 2022 just flipped from Florida State to Jackson State.

As expected, people lost their minds on Twitter Wednesday morning. Hunter had been committed to the Seminoles since March of 2020. The talented corner had drawn comparisons to NFL Hall of Fame cornerback Charles Woodson.

Hunter is a 5-star defensive back from Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia. Also a wideout for his high school, he comes in at 6-foot-1, 165 pounds. He is also the best-ranked player at his position, and in his state per the 247Sports Composite.

Hunter had all of the top Power 5 programs looking to gain his commitment. Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia were all interested in Hunter to name a few. This has to be up there for one of the best early signing period moments of all time as Deion Sanders has flipped the nation’s No. 1 recruit from his alma mater.
