Denver Broncos place former Penn State WR on non-football injury list

Former Penn State standout wide receiver KJ Hamler was moved to the non-football injury (NFI) list by the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon. The NFI is reserved for players who have suffered a non-NFL injury.
This means that Hamler will not be ready for training camp, which starts for the Broncos on Friday. Hamler is recovering from surgery for a torn pec, which was sustained while away from the Broncos this offseason.
It’s likely that Hamler will be back on the field soon, as his initial recovery timeline had him slated for a return around the start of training camp.

Hamler had a strong start to his NFL career before suffering some injury problems in years 2 and 3. Last season, the former Penn State WR totaled 165 receiving yards on 7 receptions.
