Denzel Burke is still not happy about his targeting ejection in Week 2.
Near the end of the 1st quarter against Western Michigan, the star corner was ejected after a helmet-to-helmet hit on Jaden Nixon.
“It was a bullcrap call,” Burke said on Wednesday. “I really didn’t understand it. And it’s kind of been going around the country. I saw one with Florida and with (Texas) A&M. That was a bad call, too. And then my call. It’s kind of just getting out of hand, and then the fact that you’re out the whole game, and the player’s not even hurt.”
The Buckeyes would go on to easily roll past Western Michigan 56-0 even without their best corner. Luckily, the ejection came in the 1st half so Burke will not miss any time in Week 4. Had the ejection happened in the 2nd half, Burke would have had to miss the 1st half of the next game.
“I was the last one in. I guess I could see the perspective the refs were looking at. But yeah, it sucks,” Burke admitted.

Ryan Day was also asked about the ejection and if he received any feedback. The coach was tight-lipped on the situation.
“I don’t think I’m at liberty to speak about that, I don’t want to get myself jammed up,” Day said.
