Denzel Ward will be missing some time, it seems. The Cleveland Browns announced that Ward, along with Jadeveon Clowney, has been ruled out against the New England Patriots.

Ward left last Sunday’s contest against the L.A. Chargers with a concussion, and was later downgraded to out. It looks like he did not pass concussion protocols and therefore can’t play against the Patriots.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on the news.

Ward has compiled 18 solo tackles, 1 interception, and 6 pass deflections so far this season.

The Cleveland Browns can’t seem to find any consistency on defense. The Browns are 2-3 heading into Week 6 and are allowing 353.8 total offensive yards per game on defense.

Despite the slow start, Cleveland is still second in the AFC North just behind the Baltimore Ravens.

The Browns face Patriots in an AFC conference matchup on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
