Nebraska looked good against Oklahoma on Saturday, but just not good enough.

The No. 3 Sooners came away with a 23-16 win, but Huskers QB Adrian Martinez was sharp, completing 19-of-25 passes for 289, while rushing for 34 yards. He faced pressure all day from the OU defense that came into the game ranked in the top-15 in sacks nationwide.

Nebraska actually averaged 6.1 yards per play compared to Oklahoma’s 5.9, but they lost on the important part — the score.

The Huskers, 2-2, topped a pair of hapless opponents in Fordham and Buffalo, but have been close in their two losses — 7 points to the Sooners and a tough 8-point loss in their opener to Illinois.

But the Huskers are tired of being “close” and want to end up on top, and Nebraska safety Deontai Williams put it best, they want wins.

They’ll need to be on top of thier game when they head to East Lansing to take on No. 21 Michigan State on Saturday, Sept. 25 — kickoff is set for 6:00PM.
