It’s been an interesting start to the season in the B1G.

Five teams in the B1G East are still undefeated heading into Week 4, and one of those isn’t Ohio State. Just one team currently owns a losing record, as Indiana sits at 1-2. On ESPN’s College GameDay Saturday morning, both Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit were asked for their opinion on the division.

Right now, Howard still has a ton of confidence in the Buckeyes.

“I’m still waiting on a B1G team to beat Ohio State,” Howard said. “So, until that happens, I still think Ohio State will be fine. Ryan Day will figure it out.”

Ohio State has won the last four B1G titles and is searching for its fifth. The Buckeyes dropped their Week 2 game to Oregon but still sit 1-0 in the conference after a Week 1 victory over Minnesota.

Herbstreit isn’t quite as convinced Ohio State has a clear path to the B1G Championship Game this year.

“I think this B1G East is fascinating because I think it’s wide open. In the past it’s been Ohio State’s talent and everybody else,” Herbstreit said. “Ohio State still has talent and they can light the fuse at any moment. But their concerns on defense, in the middle of the season, is tough to just snap and fix it. You can’t change scheme. Players have to step up.”

Ohio State closes out its nonconference season on Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. ET game against Akron.
