Monday morning, it was reported by MLive.com that Michigan and athletic director Warde Manuel had come to an agreement on a contract extension to continue running Wolverines Athletics. Now, some of those details have been released.
Like his first deal in Ann Arbor, Manuel’s extension will be for five years, keeping him in charge of the athletic department until June 30, 2026. He was named the school’s athletic director in 2016, replacing Jim Hackett.
The first deal Manuel signed was a five-year agreement which was set to expire in March of this year.

Per David Jesse of the Detroit Free Press, no dollar amounts or salary was included in the details regarding Manuel’s new contract. The new deal will have to be approved by the University of Michigan Board of Regents, which is set to meet on Thursday.
Manuel is responsible for replacing former head men’s basketball coach John Beilein with Juwan Howard, a move that has the Wolverines sitting with a 14-1 record, at No. 3 in the Associated Press Poll and atop the B1G standings.
Also this offseason, Manuel signed football coach Jim Harbaugh to a four-year extension.
