Deuce Vaughn helped Kansas State extend their early lead over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl on Saturday.
With the Wildcats lined up on the 12 yard line, QB Will Howard passed off the ball to Vaughn, who sliced up the middle to the outside. The quick RB broke free of any traffic, turned on the jets, and finally sailed into the end zone as an Alabama defender came in too late for a tackle.
Vaughn took the ball all the way for a touchdown on an 88-yard scamper.

It’s certainly not the first impressive play for Vaughn this season. The RB, who is a finalist for the Doak award, has run for 1,425 yards and 8 TD’s this season. Vaughn was a consensus All-American in 2021, and was a preseason All-Big12 and All-American this season. The RB entered the season ranked first in the nation in career points per game with 8.1.
