The accolades and honors piled up for Michigan linebacker Devin Bush on Tuesday.

After a sensational junior season, Bush was named the B1G Linebacker of the Year and B1G Defensive Player of the year for his efforts with the Wolverines. He was also a first-team all-conference selection.

For Bush, the recognition was extremely humbling.

“I was speechless, I didn’t know how to feel,” Bush said of his reaction to winning the awards. “It all hit at one moment. It was definitely overwhelming and it took a moment to take it all in.”

Bush has been revered as one of the top linebackers in college football since the beginning of the 2018 season, and the junior lived up to the hype. He finished the year with 79 tackles, nine for loss, and five sacks. Bush also broke up six passes this season.

More than that, the hard-hitting linebacker was an anchor on a defense that ranked in the top 20 in every major statistical category for most of the season.

The Wolverines finished the season with a 10-2 record and an 8-1 mark in B1G play. They will await to see where they’ll travel this postseason, which will be announced on Sunday.
