Devine Ozigbo was one of the players that the Detroit Lions released on Sunday. Detroit released five players and waived eight more, as confirmed by the team’s social media account.

Ozigbo played RB at Nebraska from 2015-2018. NFL teams are having to make final roster decisions with the deadline to announce 53-man rosters coming up on Tuesday.

Ozigbo signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2019 after not being selected in that year’s draft. Ozigbo was waived by the Saints in 2019 and played for them again in 2021 and 2022.

Other NFL teams Ozigbo has played for include the Jacksonville Jaguars (2019-2021), New England Patriots (2021-2022), and Denver Broncos (2022).

Ozigbo played in four games for the Broncos last season, but spent the majority of that time on the practice squad. He was signed by the Lions on Aug. 9 and played in two of their three preseason games.

DL Christian Covington, OL Germain Ifedi, OL Bobby Hart, and WR Jason Moore were also released by the team.
