The 6’6, 300-pound Parker entered the transfer portal in November, and committed to Virginia in December. In what appeared to be a snap decision, Parker announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Saturday, officially flipping his commitment.
A graduate transfer, Parker previously played for Saginaw Valley State, where he committed back in 2018. Parker appeared in 10 games for the Cardinals on the offensive line in 2021. Prior to committing to Virginia, Parker had received offers from Washington State, Florida A&M, Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green, among others.
Parker joins 4 other portal commitment for the Hawkeyes this season, including quarterbacks Cade McNamara and Deacon Hill, TE Erick All and WR Seth Anderson. Parker has one year of eligibility remaining.
