J.T. Tuimoloau landed at Ohio State with dual-sport potential, and he has not closed the door on playing basketball with the Buckeyes.
The former 5-star prospect picked the Buckeyes late in his recruitment and was a big addition to Ohio State’s 2021 class. He is also off to a strong start to the season.
Tuimoloau has appeared in 4 games, registering 7 tackles with 1 TFL and a sack. He made his media debut Wednesday evening, addressing the possibility of playing college basketball.
Tuimoloau said it’s something he discussed with Ohio State’s Chris Holtmann during his recruitment, but Tuimoloau has not communicated with Holtmann since he landed on campus. For now, Tuimoloau’s focus will be on the football field.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 275 lbs., it would be interesting to see how Holtmann could deploy Tuimoloau’s service on the hardwood. For now, fans will just have to enjoy his work terrorizing opposing offenses.
