The Dr. Pepper Challenge is getting obliterated on social media right now.
The Dr. Pepper Halftime Challenge has been a part of Championship Weekend for a while now. During halftime of the 2022 SEC Championship Game, Kayla Gibson and Reagan Whitaker were competing to win $100,000 towards their tuition. After the pair tied in regulation, an additional 15 seconds were put on the clock.
However, this period would also end in a tie. Instead of a 2nd OT period, Whitaker was declared the winner due to the results of a tiebreaker on Friday.

Audible boos were heard throughout the stadium for the decision. The reaction on Twitter was also unsurprisingly negative.
“She won the tiebreaker challenge yesterday” is “somehow Palpatine has returned” level storytelling by the Dr Pepper toss

As you can see, people were not thrilled with the ending of the challenge. With life-changing money on the line, it is reasonable to expect a more satisying process.
