Drake Nugent was one of the most effective players at his position in the country for the 2022 season, according to Pro Football Focus.
PFF released its top 10 highest-graded centers from the 2022 season on Tuesday morning. Nugent, an incoming transfer from Stanford, ranks No. 7 nationally.
Notably, he’s 1 spot above outgoing Michigan center Olusegun Oluwatimi. Oluwatimi won the both the Rimington Award and Outland Trophy in 2022.

Nugent was honorable mention All-Pac 12 in 2022. He was also named to the Rimington Award and Outland Trophy watchlists. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 300 pounds.
Michigan has established itself as one of the premier landing spots for offensive linemen in the country. The Wolverines have won the Joe Moore Award — given to the top OL in the nation — in back-to-back seasons.
Michigan has also added 2 other offensive linemen in the portal so far this cycle: former Stanford tackle Myles Hinton and ex-Arizona State lineman LaDarius Henderson.
The Wolverines are coming off of back-to-back appearances in the College Football Playoff.
