In two weeks, Minnesota will play its biggest game of the 2019 football season. The 8-0 Golden Gophers will host 8-0 Penn State for one of the premier games in the B1G in November.

Naturally, head coach P.J. Fleck is spending the off week the same way any coach would with a little over a week until a potential program-changing game…he’s playing hockey.

During the off weeks, Fleck likes for his team to get away from football for a little bit and enjoy a few days to themselves. So, keeping that in mind, Fleck decided this week would be the perfect time to try his hand at being a goalkeeper for the Minnesota hockey team.

Aside from a few slips and butt-plant during a drill, the head football coach actually did pretty well for himself on the ice. Below are some videos captured of Fleck’s venture with the hockey team:

When you’re Minnesota, you better learn how to play a little hockey, right? Fleck may not be a threat to land a job in the NHL anytime soon, but he held his own on the ice.

Minnesota will be back in action on Nov. 9 against Penn State. Kickoff between the two B1G unbeatens is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.
