Dylan Raiola made sure his first Nebraska touchdown was a bona fide highlight. With all eyes on the hyped freshman, he unleashed a bomb for his first passing touchdown.

In the second quarter, Raiola and Isaiah Neyor connected for a 59-yard touchdown. The extra point was good, extending Nebraska’s lead over UTEP to 16-7.

Still in the first half, Raiola is 10-of-16 for 132 yards and the above touchdown. Earlier in the contest, Raiola showed he can manage the offense, leading the Huskers on a 12-play, 72-yard drive that was capped by Dante Dowdell touchdown run.

Raiola, out of Buford (Georgia) High School, was rated 5-stars, the No. 3 quarterback and No. 21 prospect overall in the Class of 2024 on the 247Sports Composite. He had been committed to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. Late in the cycle, though, Raiola decided to flip his commitment to Nebraska. He followed through and signed with Matt Rhule’s program to play for the Huskers.

Raiola competed with Heinrich Haarberg to be QB1. Earlier this month, Rhule announced that he was going with Raiola as his starter.

It’s only UTEP, but Huskers fans have to like what they see from Raiola so far.
