There have already been a few names that have gotten thrown out for the Wisconsin head coach opening. There is now reportedly another name that is tied to the job, says 247Sports’ Evan Flood.
Jim Leonhard is going to be the interim HC for the rest of the season. However, Flood hinted that Leonhard may even be one of the top options to replace Paul Chryst as HC.
“Not a shocker, but from everything I’m hearing, I’d be really surprised if Jim Leonhard is not the next (permanent) head coach at Wisconsin,” said Flood.

This could all depend on how Leonhard does the rest of the season. Wisconsin has 7 games left, with all but two of them being against B1G West opponents.
Another name that has been mentioned as someone who should be up for the job is Kansas HC Lance Leipold. Leipold’s name has also been suggested as a candidate for the Nebraska opening as well.
Leonhard’s run as interim HC could be a big part of the decision-making process for the next HC in Madison.
