Early Madness: AP Top 6 college basketball teams all lose as part of historically wild Saturday

Purdue wasn’t the only top-10 team to lose on Saturday. In fact, 7 top-10 teams fell, including the entire Top 6, in a historic day of college basketball.
History. The AP College Basketball Poll has never had its top six teams lose in the same day. Well, it’s February 26, 2022 and it just happened. What a day of college basketball.

Like the Boilermakers’ defeat in East Lansing, all of the top-10 losses came on the road. Here’s how it all played out:
The calendar still says February, but Saturday’s outcomes have everyone talking about March. The 2021-22 college basketball season is winding down. AP Top 25 voters have a lot to sort out after Saturday, but perhaps more importantly, this also shakes up the NET rankings, which help decide seeding and the bubble.
