Ed Orgeron calls Joe Burrow a perfectionist, says LSU QB wasn’t satisfied with Peach Bowl performance

Joe Burrow has been the story of the college football season. And in the days that are leading up to the College Football Playoff national championship, the legend of the LSU quarterback continues to grow.
In LSU’s 63-28 Peach Bowl victory over Oklahoma, Burrow threw for 493 yards, rushed for 22 more and accounted for eight total touchdowns to advance to the national championship game. It was an unbelievable performance from the Heisman Trophy winner, getting the Tigers to 14-0 on the year.
But head coach Ed Orgeron said that not even Burrow’s performance in the Peach Bowl was satisfying for the LSU quarterback. He’s still hungry to play even better.
“I’ve never been around a player like Joe,” Orgeron said, according to Bill Bender of Sporting News. “Last game he threw, what, eight touchdowns and he wasn’t satisfied. I mean, that’s him.”
This season, Burrow has thrown for 5,208 yards and 55 touchdowns while completing nearly 78 percent of his passes. He’s taken the leap from a solid SEC quarterback to potential No. 1 overall draft pick.
Earlier this year, Burrow said that winning a national championship is what drives him to be successful. The NFL, at least for right now, isn’t even in his thought process.
LSU will take on Clemson for the national championship on Monday. The two teams meet in New Orleans.
