It has been a long time coming for many recruits, but the recruiting dead period is finally a thing of the past.
Since March of 2020, in-person visits have been put on hold throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. But starting June 1, the dead period has been officially lifted, meaning that teams can begin hosting recruits on campus.
One of those prospects that visited Ohio State over the weekend is offensive lineman Tegra Tshabola. Tshabola is an elite offensive tackle for the class of 2022. According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Tshabola is the No. 19 OT nationally and No. 7 player from Ohio for the cycle.
After his visit, Tshabola put out a brief video thanking the Buckeyes for the long-awaited visit on campus:
“I’m making this video mostly to thank you guys for allowing me and my family to finally get out there,” said Tshabola. “It’s been a while, been held back by all this covid stuff, but I’d like to thank y’all for showing me and my family such great hospitality, showing me the true traditions of the Ohio State University…I can’t wait to finally get up there and play for y’all and have y’all cheering for me. Go Bucks!”

It is good to see Tshabola and other recruits like him finally be able to get on campus! Hopefully, he proves to be a good one for the Buckeyes.
