Elton John got a shoutout on Saturday in the Iowa-Ohio State game. Both bands teamed up at halftime to perform a tribute to singer-songwriter.

The bands used their members to create massive stick figures for some of his songs like ‘Crocodile Rock’ and ‘Hold Me Closer’. It was a very cool sight to see.

Here’s what John had to say after seeing the tribute from both bands working together:

“Thank you, TBDBITL and Hawkeye Band! What an incredible dedication with so much creativity!” said John.

Hopefully John didn’t watch much of the first half, or he could have been bored to death. Luckily things got turned around in the second half for Ohio State fans as the Buckeyes went on to win 54-10.

At least Iowa fans got to see the very exciting show from their band alongside Ohio State’s. Iowa football may be struggling right now, but at least the band can really play.
