Emeka Egbuka was at his best on Saturday, setting a new career-high with 3 touchdown catches against Iowa. After acing that test, Ohio State was quick to turn the page.

Next on deck for the Buckeyes is a date with Oregon, traveling to Eugene for what will be a showdown of unbeaten teams and a top 10 matchup. ESPN has already confirmed College GameDay will be in attendance, and it will be a must-see matchup with Game of the Year potential.

After Saturday’s win over the Hawkeyes, Egbuka was asked about his perspective on next week’s road trip. He described it as a homecoming of sorts as a former 5-star recruit out of Washington, but he also said the Buckeyes are ready to welcome the Ducks to the Big Ten.

While Egbuka faced Oregon before, that game came in Columbus during his true freshman season in 2021. He was mainly used on special teams in that game, a loss for Ohio State.

The only other game Egbuka has played on the West Coast in college came in the Rose Bowl at the end of the 2021 season. He had 3 catches for 46 yards in that game.

Now, Egbuka is the veteran leader in Ohio State’s receiving room and coming off one of his best performances in college. He tied a career-high with 9 receptions vs. the Hawkeyes to go with his hat trick in touchdowns.

We’ll see what Egbuka has in store when he returns to the Pacific Northwest vs. the Ducks.
