No. 2 Ohio State did not have the high-caliber offensive performance they wanted in the 21-10 win over No. 5 Notre Dame, but wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is happy the passing offense got going per Chase Brown of Eleven Warriors.
With star wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba locked down by the defense of Notre Dame, the offense of Ohio State needed to adapt. Egbuka was the leading receiver for Ohio State as he caught nine receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown.
The other receiver to account for a reception touchdown was Xavier Johnson, who Egbuka complemented after his performance. He also said it can be easy for the receivers to have a good game with Heisman Trophy contender quarterback CJ Stroud throwing them the ball.
Stroud completed 24-of-34 of his passes for 223 yards, two touchdowns and a QBR of 89.5.
Emeka Egbuka said he was happy to see Xavier Johnson catch the TD that put Ohio State ahead of Notre Dame on Saturday.
"I'm excited to see what he does this week and in all the weeks to come," Egbuka added.

Emeka Egbuka said Ohio State's receivers work hard to separate from opposing players in their routes. But if they don't create space, Egbuka feels confident that C.J. Stroud can still get them the ball.
"C.J. makes it easy for us," he said.
