Before B1G volleyball goes into week No. 4, Emily Ehman looks back at last week’s top players who had a huge impact in week 3.

Raina Terry, Whitney Laurenstein, Taylor Tramell, Megan Miller, and Taylor Landfair all made her list:

  • No. 1: Taylor Landfair, Minnesota
  • No. 2: Megan Miller, Northwestern
  • No. 3: Taylor Tramell, Penn State
  • No. 4: Whitney Laurenstein, Nebraska
  • No. 5: Raina Terry, Illinois

Terry had seven aces in the Fightin Illini’s victory over Missouri State which was the most by a B1G player all season so far.

Laurenstein had 25 kills in their win over Creighton.

Trammell posted 11 blocks in a five-set win over Stanford. The 11 blocks are the most by a B1G player all season.

Miller posted her 1,000th dig in a victory over Cal Poly, she had 15 overall. She also had 27 digs in a victory over No. 24 Pepperdine.

Landfair had 28 kills and 10 digs in a victory over No. 18 Oregon.

All these ladies put up impressive numbers over mostly ranked opponents but the B1G Players of the Week were shared by Emily Londot of Ohio State and Kashauna Williams of Penn State.

Londot was selected MVP of the Georgia Tech Classic after leading No. 8 Ohio State to wins over No. 10 BYU and No. 5 Georgia Tech last weekend in Atlanta. She also averaged 4.14 points, 3.50 kills, 3.14 digs, and 0.86 blocks per set with two double-doubles, including 13 kills and 12 digs with a .308 hitting percentage in a Sept. 9 sweep of 10th-ranked BYU.

Wiliams had 3.65 points, 3.20 kills and 0.70 blocks per set to pace No. 20 Penn State to wins over No. 11 Stanford and No. 18 Oregon at last weekend’s Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge in Minneapolis.

As you can see it was a B1G week for these athletes.
