Mike Gundy’s mullet is no more — at least for now.
The Oklahoma State coach appeared at Big 12 media days on Thursday with a new look:

Gundy gave an explanation to reporters in Arlington.
“I’ve got a lot of things going on … I said, ‘Let’s cut my hair to where we don’t have to do it until the season’s over,” Gundy said. “We had a lot of fun with it.”
Gundy said his family and people in Stillwater have been asking about the new cut:
Mike Gundy, on ESPNU, says he told his hair stylist that he didn't want to have another haircut before the season ends. Said he didn't think losing the mullet would be a big deal.
"I was wrong. Everywhere I go in town, my kids at home, it's 'what happened?' and all that."

This is a full circle moment, as Gundy originally debuted the mullet at Big 12 media days back in 2016. Since then, his Cowboys have gone 43-20 and have finished in the AP Top 25 three times.
Oklahoma State is coming off an 8-3 season that ended with a 37-34 victory over Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl.
Gundy said he’s hoping his mullet will grow back by the end of the season.
Mike Gundy cut off his mullet but went heavy on the dye and has good news for mullet fans everywhere. "I hope it will grow really fast and get it back by the end of the season."
