He is from Elmhurst, Illinois. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds.
Karner would be a significant addition for either the Hawkeyes or Spartans. He’s currently ranked as the No. 587 overall player and the No. 28 tight end, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 14 player from the state of Illinois.
Karner’s ranking could improve in the coming months as more scouts are able to evaluate his game. Since the beginning of April, he has received offers from programs such as Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Louisville, Florida, Purdue, Michigan State and Iowa, amongst others.
Michigan State currently has 4 commitments in the class of 2024. The Spartans’ class ranks No. 41 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Meanwhile, Iowa is off to a great start this cycle. The Hawkeyes have 11 commitments already and own the No. 14 class nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
