The Scott Frost era is over in Lincoln. Should that worry Oklahoma fans entering Saturday’s showdown?
Frost was fired by Nebraska Sunday following a 1-2 start to the new season. Despite winning in the transfer portal and adding in one of the top offensive minds from 2021 in Pitt coordinator Mark Whipple, the Huskers never found their footing, losing to Northwestern in Ireland and Georgia Southern at home.
ESPN commentator Matt Barrie recently gave his thoughts on Frost’s departure. While losing Frost will sting, Barrie is certain that the Huskers will finally show what they’re capable of now that the dark cloud surrounding the program has disappeared.
“I love Oklahoma vs. Nebraska for one reason and one reason only: It’s a chance to see who both of these teams really are,” Barrie explained on ESPN. “The obvious storyline… Scott Frost gets fired because it just never worked out. I’m STUNNED by how bad this Scott Frost thing went at Nebraska.”
