Training camp is well underway in the NFL and there have been plenty of players who have had a great start to it.
That includes Bears quarterback Justin Fields, who was drafted 11th overall after Chicago traded up to get him.
He’s been dropping dimes almost every practice and ESPN analyst Louis Riddick has said that the organization is ecstatic about how he’s performing.
On “Get Up” this morning, Riddick said:
“I’m pretty well connected in Chicago. From Day 1 that he has gotten there, they could not be happier or more ecstatic about his level of commitment, his attention to detail, his football IQ, his willingness and desire in how intentional he has been to eliminate all distractions. His leadership, his poise, his swagger, his respect toward Andy Dalton. …It has them freakin’ ecstatic.”
.@LRiddickESPN says Justin Fields' training camp performance has the Chicago Bears "fricken' ecstatic." 👀

With all that said, it’s still unknown if he’s going to be the opening week starter. Earlier in the offseason, head coach Matt Nagy said that former Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton would be the starter and that Fields would be his backup.
That could’ve just been coach-speak but nevertheless, Fields may still have a couple of hills to climb if he’s going to start.
