ESPN anchor Scott Van Pelt tests positive for COVID-19

While the “bad beats” will certainly continue, ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt won’t be bringing them to light during his midnight show for a while.
On Thursday, the ESPN host announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19, and said that as a result he will not be doing shows as he, “will hunker down and hopefully can be back at it before too long.”
Won’t be doing shows for a bit after a positive Covid-19 test. Thankfully, no fever & I feel fine. Just can’t smell or taste anything which was my clue to go get a test.
So, I will hunker down and hopefully can be back at it before too long.

Van Pelt reports that he is not dealing with a fever, but has said that he cannot smell or taste anything right now and that the latter symptom prompted him to get tested.
“Won’t be doing shows for a bit after a positive Covid-19 test. Thankfully, no fever & I feel fine,” Van Pelt tweeted. “Just can’t smell or taste anything which was my clue to go get a test. So, I will hunker down and hopefully can be back at it before too long.”
As host of the midnight edition of ESPN SportsCenter, Van Pelt has worked for ESPN since 2001 and has also served as the nightly SportsCenter anchor for five years.
Other prominent ESPN figures have tested positive for COVID-19, as college football commentator Desmond Howard and basketball analyst Dan Dakich have tested positive over the past few months.
