Abdul Carter has been dealing with multiple injuries throughout the pre-draft process, but it seems he’s on the mend.

The former Penn State standout had a successful “medical recheck” of his foot on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Per the report, the stress fracture in Carter’s foot is healing and will not require surgery.

Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Schefter the stress factor is expected to be a “non-factor” for teams who are considering drafting Carter later this month.

Carter’s foot injury was first revealed back in late February during the NFL Scouting Combine. Carter did not work out for teams at the combine, but did conduct interviews.

This isn’t the only injury Carter has been battling throughout the pre-draft process. Carter played through a shoulder ailment during Penn State’s run to the College Football Playoff semifinals.

This news should help Carter’s draft stock in the lead-up to Day 1 in Green Bay in a couple of weeks. According to the latest odds from BetMGM, Carter is -225 to be picked No. 3 overall. Cam Ward and Travis Hunter are currently the favorites to go at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on April 24 in Green Bay.
