We still have a long way to go before we get any clarity in the race for the Heisman Trophy. But if the season ended today, one B1G running back would be in the mix, at least according to ESPN.
Tuesday afternoon, ESPN updated its top three candidates in its “Heisman Watch” list, naming Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor in the group. He was accompanied by West Virginia quarterback Will Grier and Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver.
Taylor was listed at No. 3 on the list.

Taylor is currently the nation’s leading rusher with 398 yards through two games. His five touchdowns is also tied for the best mark nationally.
Last week against New Mexico, Taylor rushed for a career-high 253 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-14 win for the Badgers.
In 16 career games in Madison, Taylor has hit the 100-yard mark 12 times and has exceeded 200 yards four times.
Wisconsin rounds out its non-conference schedule on Saturday as it hosts BYU at Camp Randall Stadium. The Badgers are 2-0 and the Cougars are 1-1.
