Now that the 2018 college football season has officially come to an end, it’s time to start looking ahead to next season. And, yes, it does feel like it’s an eternity away.
But why not start ranking teams for the 2019 season anyway? ESPN already released its list of top 10 teams for next year, listing one B1G squad in the mix.
It should come as no surprise that Clemson sits atop the way-too-early top 10 for the 2019 season after dominating Alabama on Monday night. The Crimson Tide rank No. 2 and Georgia sits at No. 3.
The only B1G team to make the list, Ohio State, is ranked No. 4.

The rest of the top 10 went Notre Dame (No. 5), Oklahoma (No. 6), Florida (No. 7), Texas (No. 8), Texas A&M (No. 9) and LSU (No. 10).
The B1G has missed the College Football Playoff each of the last two years. But right now, according to ESPN, Ohio State is sitting in that fourth spot.
We’ll see if these rankings carry over into the regular season.
