ESPN has high expectations for its new, updated mobile app. Like, insanely high.
Recently, ESPN updated its app for the new iPhone X and promised it will run “as smoothly as Saquon Barkley.” That wasn’t just some guy talking about the new app, it was actually in the description.
That’s a pretty clever marketing slogan, especially for fans in the B1G. Though maybe it won’t sit quite as well with fans of Ohio State, Michigan or Michigan State.

If the app really does run as smoothly as the Penn State back, don’t expect many bugs or glitches. Barkley is currently the frontrunner in the Heisman race, accounting for 1,478 all-purpose yards and 13 total touchdowns this season.
Last week against Michigan, Barkley rushed for 108 yards, had 53 receiving yards and scored three total touchdowns as Penn State knocked off Michigan.
There was no mention of Ohio State in the description, which is Penn State’s next opponent. Maybe that will serve as extra motivation for the Buckeyes to try and stop one of the best running backs college football has seen.
