ESPN has released its Freshman All-America team now that the 2017 regular season is in the rearview mirror.

Several no-brainers made the list, including Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm, Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor and Arizona linebacker Colin Schooler. But there were also a few surprise names that were named to the Freshman All-America team.

Five players from the B1G made ESPN’s team. Here are the stars from the conference that earned Freshman All-American honors from ESPN:

  • Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin RB
  • J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State AP
  • Sam Miller, Northwestern DE
  • Bennett Williams, Illinois S
  • Josiah Scott, Michigan State CB

Taylor and Dobbins were easy selections, as they finished No. 1 and No. 2 in rushing yards among B1G running backs as freshmen. Bennett Williams and Josiah Scott were two of the better, young pass-defenders in the conference this season.

Sam Miller was a force on the defensive line for the Wildcats all season.
