There was some shuffling in the top five this week.
After No. 2 Clemson and No. 5 Washington suffered their first loss of the season this past weekend, ESPN had somewhat on a debate on its hands as it updated its power rankings following Week 7 action.
But on Sunday morning, the top five power rankings were released.
Alabama is still penned into that No. 1 spot, but the other four slots experienced a change. Here’s the conclusion ESPN came to after Week 7.

Alabama defeated Arkansas to cling to the top spot while Georgia and TCU both were victorious, as well. Clemson — as mentioned earlier — fell to Syracuse on Friday night. Penn State was on the bye.
It was one of those chaotic weekends in college football, one that will cause a lot of changes in the polls as well as most ranking systems. There will likely be more Saturdays just like this one, as we still have half a season to go.
