Chris “Bear” Fallica is a staple on ESPN’s College GameDay, typically providing a set of picks against the spread every week.

For New Year’s Day, Fallica and the rest of the GameDay crew got together for a Championship Drive pre-game show. With four big bowls ahead for the day, the crew had plenty of action to breakdown.

When it came to the Citrus Bowl between Michigan and Alabama, Fallica declined to pick the spread which is currently set at Alabama -7.5. Instead, Bear picked the Over/Under for the game:

“They got a total of 58 up here, I’m gonna go over,” said Fallica. “I think Alabama’s gonna score a bunch of points, and I think Michigan is gonna score a bunch…first time I’ve done a total all year.”

For those that may be unfamiliar with the idea of betting the over, Fallica provided a brief explanation:

“Tutorial No. 1 is find the best number. There are a lot of 58.5’s out there, some 58’s, a couple 59’s, so you find the best number,” explained Fallica. “Over means combined point total; both teams will score combined over 58 points. So you maybe get something like 34-30 Alabama, that’s over 58.”

Will we indeed see a B1G vs SEC shootout in the Citrus Bowl, or will it grind out into a defensive struggle? Kickoff is coming up at 1 pm EST.
