ESPN’s FPI has predicted the winners of the Week 2 games. Wisconsin is playing Washington State at home.

The Badgers beat Illinois State by a score of 38-0 in Week 1. Braelon Allen looks like he hasn’t changed a bit. Allen had 148 yards rushing and 1 touchdown on 14 carries. Graham Mertz threw the ball a lot to Chimere Dike, who finished the game with 106 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.

Jim Leonhard showed that Wisconsin’s defense still has what it takes, shutting out Illinois State. His defense forced 2 turnovers, and limited the Redbirds’ offense to just 243 total yards.

Wisconsin has only played Washington State twice in its program’s history. The teams have only played in 2007 and 1976, but the Badgers have won both times. ESPN’s FPI believes that Wisconsin is due for another win over the Cougars.

The Football Power Index gives Wisconsin a 92.9% chance to beat Washington State. The Cougars are coming off of a 24-17 over Idaho in Jake Dickert’s coaching debut. Dickert was the team’s acting head coach for the last 5 games of the regular season in 2021.

Wisconsin is favored in its 3rd game against New Mexico State as well, before heading into its 1st conference game against Ohio State on Sept. 24.

Wisconsin and Washington State kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 10 on FOX.
