ESPN’s FPI, the Football Power Index, has been updated with the odds for the B1G Championship Game after a wild Week 3 of the 2022 college football season.
The B1G had some up-and-down moments in Week 3 as the conference went 9-4. There were some dominating wins from the top two teams in the B1G against Group of 5 programs. Another big win for the B1G came from No. 22 Penn State’s 41-12 road win over Auburn.
There were also some bad losses from the B1G that doesn’t really affect teams in the divisional standings, but it affects the future outlook of how the teams play the remainder of the games. One of the biggest nonconference losses was No. 11 Michigan State’s 39-28 road loss to Washington. Northwestern and Nebraska both suffered bad losses in different ways that affects the FPI.

Here is how the FPI is predicting the B1G Championship at this point:
- Ohio State – 51.4%
- Michigan – 17.3%
- Penn State – 9.9%
- Minnesota – 8.4%
- Wisconsin – 7.9%
- Purdue – 3.2%
- Michigan State – 1.1%
The rest of the teams in the B1G not mentioned have below a 1% chance.
Ohio State took the biggest dip from Week 2 to Week 3 as the rest of the percentages were spread to the rest of the B1G. Ohio State had a dominating 77-21 home win over Toledo.
Michigan and Penn State had some of the biggest rises after Week 3. Minnesota and Wisconsin have moderate rises after some big wins. Michigan State and Purdue had some of the biggest drops in the FPI in the B1G race after their losses.
