ESPN’s FPI is projecting the full results of the 2023 college football season, and the system has predicted every game on Wisconsin’s schedule.

Luke Fickell inherited a program that made a bowl game in 2022. Fickell knows that well because he made the uncommon move of coaching in his new team’s bowl game weeks after being hired. Still, the 2023 team is undoubtedly Fickell’s first Wisconsin squad.

Badger fans are expecting more than making a bowl game and finishing 7-6 under Fickell. While some turnarounds take time after a coaching change, ESPN’s Football Power Index projects Wisconsin to show significant improvement in Year 1 under Fickell.

ESPN Analytics has Wisconsin favored in 11 of 12 games. The FPI gives the Badgers a 39% chance of making the Big Ten Championship Game and a 6.6% chance of winning the conference. The Badgers head into the season ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25.

Here is Wisconsin’s chance to win every game on its 2023 schedule, according to ESPN’s FPI:

  • Sept. 2 vs. Buffalo – 92.4% chance to win
  • Sept. 9 at Washington State –69.9%
  • Sept. 16 vs. Georgia Southern – 90%
  • Sept. 22 at Purdue – 63.1%
  • Oct. 7 vs. Rutgers – 88.8%
  • Oct. 14 vs. Iowa – 66.9%
  • Oct. 21 at Illinois – 58.6%
  • Oct. 28 vs. Ohio State – 13.7%
  • Nov. 4 at Indiana – 77.2%
  • Nov. 11 vs. Northwestern – 83.2%
  • Nov. 18 at Nebraska – 77.7%
  • Nov. 25 at Minnesota – 52.6%
