ESPN’s FPI predicts Minnesota’s clash with Colorado

Is that hope in the air over Minneapolis?
Minnesota is 2-0 and looking good to start the 2022 season. The Golden Gophers returned their dynamic running back Mohamed Ibrahim from injury and haven’t looked back, blitzing through the first part of their schedule against New Mexico State and Western Illinois.
The response has been an overwhelming ‘let’s see you do it against a real team.’ I’m not sure Colorado counts, but it will be Minnesota’s first Power 5 matchup of the year and will serve as an appetizer heading into their B1G opener against Michigan State.
ESPN’s FPI projected the winner of Minnesota-Colorado, giving the Golden Gophers a 94.8 chance of improving to 3-0 when the dust settles.
And that’s not exactly surprising. Colorado has started the season going in the wrong direction under JT Shrout, falling to TCU and Air Force by a combined 56 points.
What better time to turn it around than against a B1G school? Minnesota-Colorado kicks off at 3:30 pm EST on ESPN2.
