Week 11 brings with another rivalry showdown. This time, it comes with a crucial B1G West contest with just a few games remaining in the season.

During Week 10, Minnesota was upset by unranked Illinois. The loss stings, and it dropped the Gophers into a tie for first place in the West after previously having the lead all to themselves.

For Iowa, the Hawkeyes hung on in a hard-fought battle vs. Northwestern. Wins by Wisconsin and Purdue also contributed to a 4-team tie for first place in the division.

That tie will at least be broken one way in Week 11. Iowa and Minnesota will square off for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy with the winner edging closer to a potential B1G West title.

The rivalry series between the Hawkeyes and the Gophers has been dominated by Iowa in recent history with Kirk Ferentz’s squad winning 6 straight and 8 of 9 over Minnesota. ESPN’s FPI is also expecting an Iowa win this season. According to the FPI, the Hawkeyes are given a 69.1% chance of coming away with a win.

The last time the two sides met in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes pulled off an upset and spoiled Minnesota’s undefeated season. Can the Gophers get some revenge this time around?
