ESPN’s FPI has a prediction for the Maryland-Charlotte game. The Terps will be playing the 49ers away from home.

Maryland is coming into this game after a 31-10 victory over Buffalo in Week 1. Taulia Tagovailoa threw for 290 yards passing, and had 1 interception. Roman Hemby led the team in rushing yards with 114 and 2 touchdowns. Rakim Jarrett finished the game with 110 yards receiving.

Other than the win, another great thing that happened for the Terrapins was the return of Jeshaun Jones, who missed the majority of last season with a leg injury. Jones had 70 yards receiving off of 4 catches, with a long of 35 yards.

This will be the 1st time that Maryland and Charlotte have played each other in football. While these teams haven’t met before, Maryland is favored heading into the game.

The Football Power Index believes Maryland has a 92.3% chance of beating Charlotte. Mike Locksley will be looking to build off of the 7-6 finish to the 2021 season that his team had. Maryland’s 1st test will be against Michigan on Sept. 24, which is the 1st B1G game on the schedule.

The 49ers are 0-2 to start the 2022 season. They have losses to FAU and William & Mary so far.

Maryland and Charlotte face off on Sept. 10 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
