ESPN’s FPI predicts outcome of Maryland-Ohio State game

Maryland had a tough time with Iowa last week.
The Terps allowed 31 points in the 2nd quarter and eventually got blown out by the Hawkeyes 51-14 Oct. 1 at home. They don’t get much of a reprieve this week as they head to Columbus to take on Ohio State — a much more high-powered offense.
Maryland doesn’t have much of a chance of an upset, though, as ESPN’s FPI gives Ohio State a whopping 93.4% chance of winning the matchup.
Ohio State has certainly looked more like itself after a stunning Week 2 loss to Oregon. The Buckeyes have scored at least 50 points in their last two games and have topped 40 points in all three games since the loss. They have a good chance to keep that train rolling this week at The Horseshoe.
Maryland, meanwhile, still has one of the top quarterbacks in the league in Taulia Tagovailoa despite his performance against Iowa. Ohio State’s defense isn’t nearly the caliber of Iowa’s, but he’ll still have his work cut out for him Saturday afternoon.
