ESPN’s FPI has projected the winner of a Week 9 contest between Maryland and Northwestern at Ryan Field in Evanston.

Maryland is sitting on a 5-2 record (2-2 B1G) and is coming off an open week. Its last outing was against Illinois on Oct. 14, a 27-24 loss — the Terrapins’ 2nd in a row. Meanwhile, Northwestern is 3-4 (1-3 B1G) and was in action during Week 8, a 17-9 loss to Nebraska.

For the Terrapins, the order of business is getting a win on a road to get themselves bowl-eligible. For the Wildcats, currently led by David Braun on an interim basis after the firing of Pat Fitzgerald, they have an opportunity to put that on hold while pulling closer to the 6-win mark themselves.

It’s only the 4th time the 2 teams will meet on the gridiron: the Terps won 31-24 in College Park a season ago after the Wildcats took the first 2 meetings. ESPN’s FPI has this one going to the Terrapins, giving them an 81.7% chance of victory.

The Terrapins hit the road as a 13.5-point favorite for Saturday’s game, and Mike Locksley’s program will look to get back on the right foot with a win. Fans can get in on Saturday’s action through the use of the BetMGM Maryland promo code.

Kickoff from Evanston is set for noon ET on the Big Ten Network.
